Dear A.S.S. Editor
Remember the woman at the centre of the breastfeeding saga? The same woman, who made headlines last month after a photo of her breastfeeding her two-year-old daughter in an MRT train without a nursing cover was posted online and went viral, is now pageant finalist in the Mrs Singapore & Classic Mrs Singapore Pageant.
The woman, Ms Cheryl Lee, indicated that the saga did not change her, as she still does the same thing when outside. She also refuted online claims that she was embroiled in the saga to gain fame for her pageant entry. She had indicated that all along, she had wanted to use the pageant as a platform to promote breastfeeding in public. She is still breastfeeding in public, be it at a mall or on MRT trains, and will continue to do so if the need arises.
Good luck to her in the pageant, and carry on with your noble aims to promote breastfeeding in public. People all over the world are doing it in public, so Singapore should not be shocked. We have to keep abreast of world trends, don’t we?
