Dear A.S.S. Editor
A 77 year old man died this morning in an accident that happened along the service road of Block 485 Segar Road. The man, a pedestrian, was knocked down by a minibus at around 6:12am this morning. He was taken unconscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
A police statement said that a 69-year-old male driver was arrested for causing death by a rash act, and police said investigations are ongoing. Not even an actual road where the accident took place, but a service road between blocks.
This is an area where generally, vehicles go slow and accidents are rare. The driver of the minibus himself is just 8 years younger than the elderly accident victim. Was poor lighting the reason for the accident, since it happened in the early hours of the day? Whatever it is, even service roads are not immune to accidents that can lead to deaths.
