Dear A.S.S. Editor
The oBike Service will be officially launched today, and the beneficiaries of this bike sharing scheme are the Tampines residents. oBike had announced a partnership with the Tampines Town Council, and with the launch of the service, Tampines residents will be eligible for a free one-month oBike service upon registration.
This will enable them to test out the service for a month first, without any fees to be paid, and see if this works for them. Once the trial period is over, the Tampines residents who wants to join in the scheme, can download the app on their smartphones and pay a deposit of $49 with a credit/debit card or via Paypal. Through the in-app map, users are able to locate oBikes, which are equipped with GPS technology.
Now, let’s hope that with this free trial period, the residents of Tampines will take advantage of going to work or out using bicycles, instead of driving or riding. But at the same time, please do not misuse the service, for it will create problems for genuine users of the app. Don’t even think about not returning the oBike bicycles.
