I wear blue, I am divisive and sow discord. I wear white, I am with you, for you, for Singapore.

I wear blue, I have no constructive ideas. I wear white, I have the civil service.

I wear blue, I am political. I wear white, I am a selfless grassroots advisor.

I wear blue, the estate is a slum. I wear white, the lifts are working.

I wear blue, the pledge is a lived reality. I wear white, the pledge is an aspiration.

Wearing blue makes me no less a patriotic Singaporean than you who wear white. We each carry a pink NRIC and a red passport. We are foremost Singaporeans.

If diversity and inclusivity has a shade, it certainly has a blue in it. And you are most welcome to continue wearing white.

Look up from your ivory tower, you see a blue sky with white clouds. In the absence of them both, a storm is near and so is the future of Singapore.
