MALAYSIA’S MALINDO AIR DENIES ASKING FEMALE JOB APPLICANTS TO STRIP

Malindo Air, a Malaysian airline, was accused of asking female job applicants to strip down to their bras in the job interview. One of the female job applicants thought she only need to go through normal dental or nail inspection and did not expect having to take off her clothes or stockings. Another interviewee recalled it as a nightmare.

The airline has since explained that they were grooming checks to see if an applicant has visible marks on her body. It said that the checks are part of standard procedures and adhere with the recruitment process regulations. In a statement, it said participants are checked privately be female supervisors and were all briefed for consent beforehand.
