Sahil Suhaimi, who is currently with local club Tampines Rovers, will join English Premier League club Burnely for a month-long training stint.
His club will cover the cost of travelling and lodging while Rovers chairman Krishna Ramachandra ledge to support his daily expenses.
The 24-year-old will join the Clarets Development Squad and will commence training with the Clarets, under the supervision of Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, Michael Jolley, as early as next week.
“He has worked very hard to put himself in contention and to realise his full potential. So we are happy for him.
“I have always taken the view that the S.League clubs are here to serve the Singapore football fraternity – so certainly we will not be holding Sahil back.”
Sahil added: “I have always believed in my ability and I am grateful to all those that have made this trial possible.
“This may only be a trial but it reaffirms my self-belief and I hope this serves as a positive message for all those other footballers who have not yet got the break they are looking for, to just persevere.”
