Dear A.S.S. Editor
The setting up of a resource centre at Punggol is a good initiative, but it does raise a pertinent question. The numbers of out of job professionals must be that high to elicit this move from the authorities, right?
The numbers given were actualy an estimated 11,000 out-of-work PMETs out of 860,000 residents. While if we look at percentages, this only represent 1% of the total residents in the North East, but if we were to look at real numbers, then this is shocking.
11,000 Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians that are jobless. Are there really going to be 11,000 out there available for these out of job PMET? Just why are the numbers that high?
This is very worrying indeed.
