The authorities in Osmanabad Zilla Parishad, India have come up with a new way to keep their cities free from human waste…
“We will select tehsil-level winners from the villagers who take early initiative in building toilet at home and send them on an all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore,” Chief executive officer Anand Rayate of Osmanabad Zilla Parishad said.
The winners would be chosen through a lottery. The authorities say this is to keep all villages in the district free from open defecation.
This lottery is part of a wider scheme named “Marathwada Hagandari Mukt Sangram” (Marathwada campaign for eradication of open defecation) launched yesterday.
