HDB TELLS SINGLE MUM TO MOVE OUT OF RENTAL FLAT OR PAY DOUBLE RENT

A jobless single mother, who is also caring for a sick father recovering from a heart attack, was told to move out of her rental flat owned by the Housing & Development Board (HDB) by the end of next month after she failed to pay 3 months worth of rent worth $99.

Activist Gilbert Goh has shared 2 of the letters sent to the woman. The first dated 16 March informed her to settle her outstanding arrears by 31 March. The second later dated 18 March gave her the ultimatum to vacate her flat by 30th April.

The letter also warned that if she failed to vacate the premises after 30th April, she would have to pay HDB double the rental amount.
