Gerald Giam from the Workers Party (WP) spotted this door pamphlet during his rounds in his ward and decided to show just what kind of tricks the WP has to deal with from the incumbent People’s Action Party (PAP).
According to the pamphlet, the PAP is looking for Residents Committee volunteers and openly advertised some major benefits for those who do join. They include priority queue for Ministry of Education primary school registration exercises, Ministry of National Development Grassroots Organization Scheme, HDB Special Parking Label and free education courses.
Mr Giam commented that the PAP is not even trying to be subtle about its benefits any more.
Netizens who saw Mr Giam’s post agreed that it was not right for the PAP to list down its volunteer benefits. Doing so would attract the wrong kind of volunteers, wrote one netizen.
