OLDER CABBIES JUST WANT TO DRIVE, NOT MEDDLE WITH GADGETS TO CHECK SURGE PRICE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

It seems like the surge pricing that is going to happen soon for taxi companies not only making commuters unhappy, but many of the older taxi drivers feeling unhappy too.

Some of the older cabbies have reportedly said that things are now getting more and more complicated for taxi drivers, when all most taxi drivers want to do is drive leisurely, pick up passengers, drop them off at their required destinations, and picking up the fare from the passengers. No need for complicated system that makes it inconvenient for taxi drivers and passengers alike. One taxi driver even came out and said that he did not want to be meddling with his phone and gadgets all the time, instead to just focus on the driving.

Which is what drivers should be doing. All their attention should be on the road, and not keep on looking at their phones to see bookings and price surging because of more demand for taxis. This surge pricing model should really be looked into more closely, and ensure that it is worth the while to drivers and commuters alike.
