TAXI DRIVER IDLING DURING PEAK PERIOD, RENTAL TOO CHEAP

Dear A.S.S. Editor

Transcab taxi driver spotted parking at Choa Chu Kang Way roadside heavy vehicle park sleeping and ignoring bookings at 7am.

I understand that Transcab now reduced its rental to $55/day for a Toyota Wish, which I find its too cheap, which is why it leads to taxi drivers even idling during peak period even when more demand and high fares are applicable. This are the type of taxi drivers not working hard and will end up making noise at their competitors and also scold passengers for booking uber and grab.

Now my question is, are taxi drivers nowadays come from wealthy family that the rental is nothing at all or should taxi companies increase their rental again so that their drivers don’t idle? $55 is too cheap for taxi drivers already!

Your thoughts please.

The privately organised PHV competition is very questionable. Why was this even allowed in the first place? Are companies like Grab and Gojek aware of this? How are they going to answer if drivers speed and get into accidents?
