PRC SWINDLER YANG YIN JAIL TERM INCREASED TO 9 YEARS AFTER AGC APPEAL

Singapore’s High Court has increased PRC national Yang Yin’s jail term from 6 to 9 years after the AGC appealed for a longer jail term of 10 to 11 years. Yang was convicted of cheating a rich Singaporean old lady of $1.1 million by pretending to be her “son”.

In September 2016, Yang Yin was convicted of criminal breach of trust and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment for stealing money from 90 year old Madam Chung Khin Chun.

Since November 2016, Yang Yin’s Singapore Permanent Residency (SPR) status has been revoked by the ICA.
