New Average Speed Cameras (ASC) will be introduced along Tanah Merah Coast Road in the hopes of “shaping” motorists’ behavior, says the Traffic Police.
The new technology can now track a vehicle’s speed when it enters a monitoring zone ranging from 100m to 5KM. It can also distinguish between a lorry and a sedan vehicle, and if the vehicle has been travelling over its assigned speed limit.
The entries into ASC zones will be marked with bright signs, road markings and stripes.
