THEY AMENDED ELECTED PRESIDENCY TO MAKE TAN CHENG BOCK INELIGIBLE

Dear All Singapore Stuff,

In parliament, Minister Chan Chun Sing made a freudian slip, admitting that Mdm Halimah Yacob will be the next president of Singapore.

As the Presidential Elections (Amendment) Bill was successfully passed in parliament, he addressed her as Madam President twice, prompting laughter from the House.

Halimah is already the next president whether you want it or not.

Guys, no need to vote in the September 2017 presidential election!

Looks like it has already been decided that Halimah will become president whether you vote or not.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock is now ineligible to contest and will have to silently watch as the rules are changed to make it easy for PAP’s preferred candidate, Mdm Halimah to win. In fact, Mdm Halimah’s victory is so ridiculously easy that any other Malay could have done it too.

The powers that be have already decided the winner of the presidential election.

Mdm Halimah will become Singapore’s first Indian-Muslim president, setting a record.

I pity Marsiling residents who will now have to go without a MP for the next three years as Mdm Halimah ascends to the presidency. As Marsiling-Yew Tee is a GRC, there will be no by-election and residents will just have to suck it up.

For the rest of us, we will just have to watch this sham of a presidential election and celebrate Mdm Halimah’s inevitable victory.
