LTA should either ban or restrict to two hitched rides that both passengers and drivers can take per day. Reason being, Grabhitch and RYDE are rode hitching apps where people can hitch onto a driver’s car along the way but this flaw has caused drivers to accept unlimited hitched jobs per day.
Not only these cars were on private insurance which doesn’t cover commercial
use but this has caused many people out there to buy cars and do Grabhitch
and RYDE to pay off their cost of the car easily without the need to worry.
This has indeed caused an increase in then umber of private cars on the
roads.
I hope the ministry of transport can look into this because of this
continues, nobody will want to work full time anymore as working part time
and doing car hitching rides would be killing two birds with one stone.
