POLICE ARREST DRIVER WHO CRASHED INTO MOTORCYLIST & DIDN’T STOP TO HELP

Police have arrested the driver of the white Honda who rammed into a motorcyclist on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) last Sunday (29 Jan).

The driver is a 51 year-old-man. He has been arrested on the charge of he driver had been arrested for the offence of causing “grievous hurt by a rash act and failing to render assistance”.

In a dash-cam footage that went viral, two motorcyclists riding side by side when the fast-moving Honda hit the 46 year old motorcyclist, Mr Hajni Yaacob. Subsequently, the motorbike caught fire.

Mr Hajni, a Malaysian was returning home to Johor Bahru when the accident occurred.

Currently warded in the National University Hospital, Mr Hajni expressed gratitude for being alive.

He added, “The driver must be taught a lesson because had there been no witnesses, he would have escaped the law.”
