NTUC MAKES POLICE REPORT AGAINST PLASTIC RICE ALLGATIONS

On Tuesday (Jan 31), NTUC Fairprice took to social media to assure customers that the FairPrice house brand jasmine fragrant rice is NOT made of plastic.

This was to counter the false information that had been circulating on social media which alleged otherwise.

Yesterday, some shocked customers had approached various stores to demand for a refund.

Customers who suspect that they had bought plastic rice can approach the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) to verify its authenticity. The authority regularly inspects and samples imported rice to ensure it complies with Singapore’s food safety standards and requirements.
