GAS PRICES HIKE IN SG, HOME COOKING BECOMES MORE EXPENSIVE

City Gas announced that it would raise gas tariffs for households starting 1 February to 30 April 2017.

Each household will now pay 4.5% more per kilowatt hour (kWh), which is 0.76 cents more. The total cost per kWh will now be 17.61 cents per kWh for this three month period.

City Gas claims this is to offset a 20.8% increase in fuel costs compared with the previous quarter. City Gas added that its tariffs are in line with guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority.
