2 BANGLADESHI ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL SWIMMING INTO SINGAPORE

Singapore Police Force and ICA arrested 2 Bangladeshi men for unlawful entry into Singapore after they were found swimming in the sea off Woodlands Waterfront at 1.44am on Wednesday (1 February 2017) morning. Officers spotted the men floating in the sea and took immediate action to apprehend them.

For overstaying or illegal entry into Singapore, both suspects face jail of up to 6 months and 3 strokes of the cane. It is unclear if they were leaving or attempting to enter Singapore.

This comes just days after a crocodile was spotted in the waters near the Woodlands Causeway which may pose a danger to anyone attempting to swim across the sea to enter or leave Singapore.
