FLASH FLOOD AT TANJONG PAGAR, SG SLUMS SAFE FROM FLOODING

Dear A.S.S. Editor

This morning’s non-stop heavy rain maybe caught everyone by surprise, as this is January already, and yet we are experiencing December type weather. The rain was so heavy, that some sort of flooding was expected to occur in Singapore.

The surprise was that a flash flood occurred at the Tanjong Pagar area. National water agency PUB said on Facebook that floods occurred at Craig Road, Tanjong Pagar Road and Maxwell Road. The Land Transport Authority, in a tweet at 9.23am, also warned motorists of the flash flood on Maxwell Road (towards Kadayanallur Street) after South Bridge Road.

So, flash floods did not occur at slums in Singapore, but instead, at Tanjong Pagar. How the rain gods is laughing at us now.
