MAN LIVING IN RENTAL FLAT ANGRY HDB WANTS TO EVICT HIM OVER 3 MTHS UNPAID RENT

Dear Editors,

1st of all thats not my real name. I just wanted to show this letter from HDB which was placed at my gate recently because i was not at home when the officer came. The reason for the letter given to me was after when i went to the town council to clarify. I knew i have some outstanding rent charges i havent paid yet.

So after my queue number was up and proceed to the counter and asked the officer there, why was i given this letter ‘Notice to Quit’? The answer gave me quite a stunned. I had only 3 months of rent that i havent cleared. 3 months only! And for your info, i am living in a 1room rental flat, and working as a cleaner.

So isn’t this a contrary to what the Government way of helping its own citizen? Are they being compassionate to its own people? Do they have sympathy for the less fortunate? I guess not!
