At the same time, Lee Hsien Loong’s cabinet has been expanding in size with the appointment of 2 ministers for education, 2 ministers for trade and industry and 3 coordinating ministers and 1 minister without portfolio (Chan Chun Sing).
Why does a small island need so many ministers? Are we to accept the fact that despite being touted as “top talent” and paid millions, these ministers can’t handle the full portfolio individually and need to split their work?
