ITE STUDENT CREATES APP THAT ALLOWS YOU TO RATE PHOTO AS HOT, CUTE AND SEXY

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A current ITE student has set up an app that combines elements of Instagram and Facebook, and allows users to upload pictures of themselves and rate them by choosing emoticons. The emoticons consists of such things as “hot”, “cute”, “wow” and “sexy”. The app is called Sbaey – a combination of steady and baey, which is a term of endearment used by youngsters nowadays.

The student, who is currently pursuing a Higher National ITE Certificate (Nitec) in business studies (event management) said that his motivation for creating the app was because you can only ‘Like’ a picture on Instagram, and Facebook is no longer cool to youngsters. He had managed to get investments form his friends and family and another investor, and had also got a programmer and developer for the app. The Sbaey app is scheduled to be released for Apple users next month, with an Android version later next year.

While the student is displaying a very business minded thinking, even before he completes his studies, would you allow your young children to download apps that allows strangers to rate how they look? Won’t this create a more stressful environment for the youths of today, where your every photo is scrutinized and open for discussions amongst friends and even total strangers? The young man may need to re-think his business startegy
