In Jul this year at a community event in Ang Mo Kio, our good PM continued to call for a “car-lite” society in Singapore:

Said Mr Lee, who took a bike ride on the new 4km path which loops around AMK Ave 1, 3 and 8: “I think this is going to be a success and we will do this in other towns as well, so that we can encourage people to ride more on bicycles, need cars less and also save money, and become healthier.”
But last Sunday Minister Grace Fu was spotted driving her Mercedes SLB121G in Jurong area instead. Not only was she driving a Mercedes, a policeman was also seen “chopping” a red-colored season-parking HDB car park lot for her to park her Mercedes.
PAP supporters have indicated that she had to attend some official function at the HDB estate but does it warrant getting a police officer to act as jaga so as to “chope” a parking lot for her?
In view of PM’s call for a “car-lite” society in Singapore, why can’t Minister Fu show the way by not driving a car and taking public transport instead? For that matter, why doesn’t she ride a bicycle instead like what out good PM has advocated above?
