Enjoyed a round of golf this evening at Marina Bay Golf Course with Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong, food tycoon Sam Goi and my fellow Grassroots Adviser Chong Kee Hiong 鍾奇雄.
We decided to pit Government officials versus the private sector for a friendly match. Ambassador Chen and I formed a productive partnership and in fact were four holes up after seven, but alas the heavy rain stopped the game. Despite the rain, it was a great way to get to know each other better outside of work, and to build closer rapport.
Our conversations revolved around each country’s unique histories and founders. China and Singapore have enjoyed good bilateral relations built up over the years through close cooperation across many areas such as economy, trade, defence and people-to-people relations. A toast to more friendship-building activities!
