The Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) has flagged parallel importer, SG Auto (Ang Mo Kio Street 62) after it incurred more than 20 complaints from customers in the past year.
Customers with SG Auto’s would pay a deposit “for guaranteed COE bidding and delivery of a car”. They were supposed to receive a refund of their deposit if the COE bidding was unsuccessful within a stipulated time frame. The complaints alleged that after SG Auto failed to secure the COE, it would give reasons to delay the refund.
The general manage of SG Auto, Glenn Koh, said that the complaints were a “misunderstanding”.
He added that everything has been settled amicably. CASE however, said that while a few cases were settled, some were still pending. Some customers have taken their case to the Small Claims Tribunal.
