KINDHEARTED BIZ OWNERS FRM GOLDEN MILE PROVIDE FREE SHUTTLE FOR THAI WORKERS TO PAY RESPECT TO LATE KING

Business owners at Golden Mile hired shuttle buses for their Thai workers to go to the Royal Thai Embassy to pay their respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyad last Sunday (Oct 16).

Elijah Chai and his wife Pulu Wilaiwan are mobile business owners who have been based in Golden Mile for more than six years. Mr Chai’s wife is Thai. Through conversations with the Thais, Mr Chai and his wife found out that many of the Thais wanted to go pay resepcts but they did not know how to get there.

Mr Chai then engaged bus service operator, Chan Bus Services. Mr Chai was offered a lower quote when the operator found out the reason for the booking. A modest Mr Chai credited the effort to the business owners of Golden Mile who worked as a team.

The Thai embassy opened its doors for the community to pay their respects on Friday and will be open to the general public from next week. Those who wish to pay tribute to the king can do so from Oct 17 to 21 from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm.
