The decision to have children is a serious one and requires huge amount of consideration and preparation. If you have children out of wedlock in Singapore. you are not entitled to any govt benefits. Unlike couples in the West who enjoy equal benefits, unmarried parents in Singapore are penalised for having children, and you wonder why we don’t want to give birth?
There is also the issue of privacy, I am not fucking anyone in my mother or father’s house. That is just plain disgusting. There is no privacy and no freedom to do what I like. With house prices in Singapore being so dear, how can i afford my own personal space to make babies?
In Singapore, most of the child rearing duties after giving birth falls on us ladies and we dont want babies so soon because it will curtail our career progression. If you factor in the high cost of living, how do you expect Singaporeans to start our families young and penniless? Now its no longer the 1960s where you can start and raise a family on a single middle class income.
Seriously Josephine Teo, get the fuck out of my uterus, it is mine, piss off. My life, my decision. If you want to get into my uterus, at least be generous about it and solve the above 3 problems for me before touching my uterus.
