Before the United States presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have their presidential debate in St Louis, Missouri, on Sunday (Oct 7), a Singaporean man will take the stage before them.
Kenneth Sng, 24 years old, will be delivering opening remarks at the event as the Student Union president of Washington University in St Louis, which is hosting the event. Sng is the first international student to serve as the Student Union’s president. This makes the event even more symbolic.
Sng said was shocked to learn that he would be speaking to the crowd at the debate just last week. He is still working on a draft of his remarks. He aims to present it with an international aspect.

His remarks are expected to be broadcast on American cable channel C-Span ahead of the clash between the two candidates.
Sng is a Public Service Commission scholarship holder.
