Turned out i wasn’t even inside the 30%
The truth is i did go down to vote.
I have since thrown away the polling card but even with that i don’t know how i can prove i was there at the polling centre other than me signing on the list of voters before i am given a voting slip. I believe the polling card just tells you your polling centre and is not a receipt of your attendance. So, don’t tell me with so many volunteers at the counter, no one spotted me not signing my attendance (i doubt so) yet i was given a polling slip??
I have no qualms applying to restore my name into the registry, it’s only a few clicks, but i’m angry that the declaration part forces me to lie with a fake reason when in reality i turned up to vote. And depending on the reason i choose, i might need to submit proof, it’s like rubbing salt onto my wound….
And knowing civil servants, i bet if i call them to check the records again for my attendance, they will say “Sorry Sir, but our records show your name has been removed from the Register as you did not vote….blah blah blah”. (Civil servants, please prove me wrong and give me a smarter answer, i beg of you.)
So guys, tell me do i have a reason to be angry??
