Explanation by Director Bonnie Wong on Behalf of Sukiya Management:
"Upon thorough investigation, it is conclusive that the maggots originated from a bad egg that had cracked and was taken from the buffet line, resulting in the maggots in the bowl.
We also did a thorough check on the rest of our food supplies at the Bugis+ kitchen once again to ensure that the food we serve is not compromised.
We would like to repeat the apology extended to you while you were at our store. We hope that the service recovery extended to you earlier this evening will allow you to regain your trust in us."
In addition, Wong assured patrons that Sukiya had thrown away all eggs from this supplier and feedback to them about the incident. All bowls used in their restaurants are said to be well cleaned before being served for use.
