On Wednesday, Reddit user “kroopthesnoop” posted an image of a jet black iPhone 7 Plus that was not in good shape.

It looked like it had exploded, with its front touch screen display separated from its body.

According to the netizen, the phone had exploded while in transit. When he took the phone out of the box, the iPhone 7 Plus was already in this state. It is not known whether the explosion was a result of a battery defect like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, or if something had happened while the iPhone was being delivered.
