SURVEY: 69% OF S’POREANS PICK THARMAN AS THEIR NEXT PRIME MINISTER

According to a Blackbox Research Survey commissioned by Yahoo Singapore, 69% of 897 participants stated that they would support current Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam as Singapore’s next Prime Minister. 59 year old Tharman led the pack of contenders including, Teo Chee Hean, Heng Swee JKeat, Chan Chun Sing, Tan Chuan Jin, Lawrence Wong, Ong Ye Kung and Ng Chee Meng.

When survey participants could only pick one contender as their Prime Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam lead the polls as 55% voted for him as their first choice Prime Minister.

Across the various age groups, races and social-economic status, Tharman Shanmugaratnam was the favoured choice to be Singapore’s future PM.
