BUS DRIVER SCOLDED BY PASSENGERS FOR CHASING THEM OFF BURNING BUS

On Friday (16 Sep), a bus from Larkin, Malaysia caught fire en route to Yishun bus interchange.

The bus was traveling along Yishun Ave 5 when the driver saw flames burning from the engine at the rear of the bus.

The shocked driver stopped the bus at the nearest bus stop and shouted at the passengers to alight.

However, the passengers refused to budge. Instead, they scolded the driver as they had not reach their destination (Yishun Bus Interchange) yet.

It was only when the driver convinced them that the bus was on fire that they began to move.

The driver tried to put the out the fire with an extinguisher but to no avail.

The firefighters managed to put out the fire before it could spread further.

All that remained was the frame of the bus.

The SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
