A 41 year-old lawyer, Mr Lee Terk Yang, was given a 3 month suspension by the apex Court of Three Judges today for grossly improper conduct under the Legal Professional Act.
Mr Lee had pleaded guilty to having a sexual affair with his client, a former air stewardess he was representing in a divorce case while he served as her lawyer in January 2014.
After their affair was discovered by the air stewardess’ boyfriend, the boyfriend lodged a complaint with the Law Society.
After the hearing, Mr Lee told reporters: “I am sorry for all that has happened. …. I’m very sorry that I’ve hurt the people around me. I hope to be given the space to recover.”
