27 year-old NUS graduate Tan Chong Ming Jason has been jailed 5 months yesterday after he was found guilty of 33 chages of insulting the modesty of women at the company he worked at between last September and March this year.
He admitted to using his mobile phone to take a video of the women in various places. Police found 30 videos showing women in compromising situations, including upskirts and videos of his victims relieving themselves in the toilet.
Even more shockingly, he even had videos of his friend’s 28 year-old sister, who he filmed while she was showering through an open window.
The court has asked that his company not be named so that the victims would not be identified.
He was caught on 11 March when he followed a 24 year-old colleague into the unisex toilet at his office to record a video of her through a gap. When the 24 year-old woman saw the camera, she rushed out to confront a shocked Tan, who left the toilet without saying a word. When he viewed the video play back later in the day, he realized that the colleague had discovered that he was secretly filming her and deleted the video.
The victim subsequently informed her boss of the incident. When Tan’s phone was checked, several other videos of women relieving themselves were found. Police were called in.
