S’PORE POLICE: NEWS OF ATTEMPTED VIVOCITY KIDNAPPING IS FALSE, DO NOT SPREAD UNPROVEN NEWS

The Police have thoroughly investigated into the case reported on 31 July 2016 where an attempted kidnapping of a child had purportedly taken place at VivoCity. The Police have established that it was not a case of attempted kidnapping. There are also no other reports made to the Police of such kidnapping incidents in other parts of Singapore.

The Police urge members of the public not to spread unsubstantiated information which may generate unnecessary public alarm. The Police take a very stern view against anyone who knowingly spread false information to mislead the public and will not hesitate to take action against such individuals.
