AVA DECLARES GELATIN-FILLED PRAWNS SAFE WITHOUT TESTING SAMPLES FROM COMPLAINANT

Dear Editors,

After i complained about buying prawns with white goo coming out of its body from the Segar Sheng Siong outlet, AVA replied and told me it is safe for consumption without even collecting the said samples from me which I kept for them.

AVA replied: “AVA has investigated and found that the “gelatinous blob” in the shrimp is the heart structure of the shrimp. It is normal anatomy and is prominent in fresh prawns. There are no food safety concerns, and the prawns are safe for consumption.”
