MOTHER WHO ABUSED TODDLER SON TO DEATH, JAILED FOR 8 YEARS

A mother Noraidah Mohd Yussof who abused her 4 year old son till he died of serious head injuries was jailed for 8 years imprisonment by High Court judge Lee Seiu Kin. Judge Lee rejected the defence’s claim that she was suffering from Asperger’s syndrome which affects how a person interacts with others.

In March 2012, she pushed Mohammad Airyl Amiral Haziq Mohamed Ariff and stepped on his ribs after she became irritated during her attempts to teach him the alphabets.

2 years later in August 2014, she abused him for being unable to recite the numbers 11 to 18 in Malay. Despite undergoing surgery for his injuries, he passed away 4 days later with multiple scars and bruises all over his body.
