TRS FOUNDER YANG KAIHENG CONVICTED FOR 6 CHARGES OF SEDITION

Co-founder of The Real Singapore sociopolitical website Yang Kaiheng was convicted on 6 charges of sedition after he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was initially expected to claim trial to prove his innocence and lack of involvement in the website’s operations.

In the first tranche of the TRS sedition trial, Yang Kaiheng’s wife Ai Takagi pleaded guilty to sedition charges laid against her and appeared to take full responsibility for the alleged crimes committed by TRS.

For her admission of guilt, she was sentenced to 10 months jail and is currently serving her sentence. Ai Takagi was pregnant and with child when she entered prison.

Yang Kaiheng will be sentenced next Tuesday afternoon (28 June 2016)
