URA & HDB TO RAISE PUBLIC PARKING RATES TO “GLOBAL STANDARDS”

The HDB and URA have confirmed that a review is underway to look at raising public parking rates, according to the PAP-controlled Straits Times.

This comes after MND and MOT’s statement that S’pore’s parking charges lag behind those of other global cities.

According to both agencies, the review will “right-price public car park charges and reduce the gap between the fees charged by private and public carparks”.

So folks, kiss goodbye to $1 hourly parking rates soon. You can bet the PAP will implement this in double quick time as it usually does for all price hikes.

And while we are at it, why not bring ministers’ salaries down so they are in line with those earned by their counterparts in these global cities too?
