On 13 June at about 7.15 am, near the junction of Serangoon Road, Towner Road and Boon Keng Road, an accident involving a lorry and a taxi escalated into one of chain collision which left a pedestrian with serious injuries.
A lorry collided with a taxi at Serangoon Road. Perhaps in an attempt to avoid the lorry, the taxi swerved and hit a woman who was waiting to cross the road. The woman was hurled on to the road. She sustained head injuries.
The lorry then traveled over a pedestrian pathway, a grass patch and rammed into 4 stationary cars at the open air carpark.
Both the taxi driver and the woman were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
The driver of the lorry was arrested on suspicions of drunk driving.
