WHY IS THERE A MEDIA BLACKOUT ON POLICE’S HARASSMENT OF ROY NGERNG & TEO SOH LUNG?

This should surprise no one, but there is total silence in the state media on yesterday’s egregious police harassment of Roy Ngerng and Teo Soh Lung.

People said of Benjamin Lim, “But there’ve been so many investigations, and he’s the only one where this happened!” Well, he’s the only one you know of, because the state media is worse than useless on questions of civil liberties and due process. And you know about him only because TOC forced their hand.

People scoffed, “This is Singapore; cover-ups don’t happen!” Which gets it exactly backwards. This is Singapore, and the cover-up is so complete you don’t even notice.
