MAN SUMMONED TO COURT FOR NOT PAYING 6 MONTHS S&CC CHARGES TO JURONG TOWN COUNCIL

Dear Editors,

Look at this Court summon letter to a resident living in Jurong-Clementi Town Council, Only because the resident did not pay S&CC for 6 months he is being treated as a criminal and forced to answer charges in Court.

If you notice, the resident owes $174.97 of conservancy fees over 6 months, which means one month resident only pay $29 a month. Is it worth the lawyer fees to take a resident to Court over such a small amount?

How much are they paying the lawyers and how much Court resources are being wasted on such trivial cases? Why not resort to private mediation to solve this issue? Why so high handed to solve such money problems?

Is this what the PAP calls a caring society? Did you vote for this?
