As residents living at Block 105 Jalan Bukit Merah returned home yesterday, they were greeted with an extremely unpleasant stench which seemed to emanate from the home of an elderly Muslim man.

Concerned neighbours knocked on the doors but to no avail. The police, SCDF and an ambulance were called in to the unit 03-1922, where they discovered the decomposing remains of the resident, who had died alone at home.

By 11PM, crime scene investigators had arrived at the scene, but police officers were not reachable for comment on what led to the man’s death.

A concerned resident shared photos of the commotion when police and rescue workers arrived. He says that he has not seen the family of the deceased throughout the commotion and hopes that the family of the man can be notified of their family member’s unfortunate demise.
