PAP MUST STOP MILKING LEE KUAN YEW’S IMAGES FOR POLITICAL BENEFITS

Dear Editors,

Regarding the MCCY’s guidelines on the use of the late Mr. LKY name and image, it should cut BOTH ways. The man is dead, let him RIP. Regardless of how controversial he might have been is a matter of perspective.

But ALL Singaporeans will agree that he “created” the Singapore we see now (good or bad, the jury is still out). PAP should also stop “beating a dead horse” for its image and political benefits.

PAP of today should try facing the mandate based on your own merits. Other should restrain themselves from satirising him in any way. It is not a matter of freedom of speech. It is what we Asian hold close to our heart: RESPECT.
