EX-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TAN CHENG BOCK: I WANT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN PE2017

On Friday (11 March 2016), former Presidential candidate Dr Tan Cheng Bock declared his intentions to once again run for the Presidency in Singapore.

This after he shared in a Facebook post on 9 March 2016 that “Many of my friends and supporters have asked if I intend to contest in the forthcoming Presidential elections in 2017. I owe them an answer”.

In PE2011, Dr Tan Cheng Bock narrowly lost to the PAP-backed candidate Dr Tony Tan by a razor thin margin of 0.34% vote share. He garnered a commanding 738,311 votes, just 7382 votes shy of Dr Tony Tan’s percentage.
