Defence Minister Ng Eng Han revealed in his Parliamentary speech that this year’s NDP will be staged at the new National Stadium at a cost of $39.4 million. This is double that of the previous NDP held at the Marina Bay Floating platforms. In comparison, last year’s SG50 NDP cost $40.5 million.
The cost of using the National Stadium venue tripled from 4% to 15% of the overall budget this year. Holding the NDP at the National Stadium will allow 275,000 Singaporeans to watch the NDP. This is twice the number of audience as compared to previous years.
