BRO-IN-LAW INVITED PARENTS TO STAY OVER BUT DAUGHTER HAD TO SHARE BED WITH BRO-IN-LAW & WIFE

Dear A.S.S,

My brother-in-law and his wife would sometimes invite my parents-in-law to stay at their place.

As they have a teenage son, sometimes, my parents-in-law would bring my little girl over because they have nothing to do that. Also, they think it would be a good time for me and my wife to get some rest.

My parents-in-law have a room at my brother-in-law’s place. Naturally, I thought my daughter would be sharing the room with my parents-in-law with her own bed/mattress of course.

However, this was not the case! I found out that my daughter had to share the same bed as my brother-in-law and his wife. Nothing bad happened of course but this made me very uncomfortable.

I spoke to my wife about it. She is the sort who never goes against her parents wishes/demands.

She said they were family after all. I argued that since they want to have a “sleepover” they should at least have the necessary logistics.

I have my little girl’s interest at heart. How can my in-laws bring her over just because they “have nothing to do”? And sharing bed? I do not want her to have the impression that it is okay to simply share beds.

My wife got very unreasonable and said that I think poorly of her family. She has not spoken to me in days.

I do not think I am being unreasonable.
